Meet Mona
OWNER OF MK INTERIOR DESIGN CO
Hiya friends, just wanted to introduce myself to those who don’t know me. My name is Mona! I would like to thank you for following and supporting me in my new venture.
With a degree in Design from the University of Huddersfield in England, I always had an eye for creating beautiful spaces in my friends’ and my own homes.
After pursuing a career in fitness, I created an opportunity for myself to utilize my Design skills as a professional Interior Designer with a respected Charlotte design firm. After several years designing beautiful spaces for others, with the encouragement of friends and family I launched my own firm - MK Interior Design Co.
Indian by descent and culture, British born and raised, and naturalized as American for two decades. I bring international flair to my beautiful and thoughtful work. My style melds my multi cultural influences, to deliver meaningful design.
And yes, I have an accent!! Believe it not, I’ve had people ask me to read books to them lol It throws people off all the time as I look Indian, live in America, but sound British. I have 2 boys, now 21 and 16, both of them mimic my accent too. It’s funny how people ask me if my kids sound like me (given that they were born and raised in the Carolina’s lol).
I have a passion for creating beautiful spaces and believe everyone deserves to have a home they love, that feels like a little piece of haven to them when they come home.

Meet Halle,
she brings the designs to life!
JUNIOR DESIGNER
Hi! My name is Halle, and I’m a recent graduate from East Carolina University, where I earned my degree in Interior Design with a minor in Fashion Merchandising.
My favorite design style is coastal modern because the calming color palette, natural textures, and clean lines feels like home to me. I love to add pops of color to keep things fun and interesting! One of the most rewarding parts of the design process for me is seeing a space transform from concept to reality
Outside of work, you can usually find me by the ocean, traveling to new places, spending quality time with my pets, and you don’t have to ask me twice to take a nap! My guilty pleasure is a strawberry refresher with peach juice from Starbucks and ONLY the mini m&ms.
I’ve been fortunate to intern with MK Interior Design Co. for the past year and a half, where I’ve grown so much both personally and professionally. I’m beyond excited to now be joining the team full-time and can’t wait to continue bringing beautiful spaces to life with such a talented group.

Hi! I’m Kendal, and I’m the voice behind the screen here at MK Interior Design Co.

I handle all things social media — from planning posts to writing captions to helping bring Mona’s designs to life online. My goal is to make sure our digital presence reflects the beauty, creativity, and personality of the spaces the team creates.

I graduated from UNC Charlotte with a degree in photography and also run my own portrait photography business. Photography has always been my passion, so being part of a team that values creativity and design is amazing!

Outside of work, you’ll find me working out, listening to a podcast, or hanging out with friends. If I’m not behind the camera, editing or scheduling posts, I’m probably deep into a Reddit podcast or trying to convince myself I don’t need more clothes lol. I’m so grateful to be part of a team that’s full of talent, heart, and style — and I’m excited to keep sharing everything with all of you!
